- Navigate to the station where MJU lives. Unique account credentials needed to log in.
- Download the file and/or copy the file to where the MJU resides.
- Set the customer, job type and other info — Helps to include this info in a master folder that can be quick referenced. For example: Cheri Jones_Digi SID_CID 91253 — Chaires can copy over the current master folder list.
- CTS can be used to reference previously processed jobs if you need the billing or formatting information.
- Open the job uploader, select the file.
- In theory, should be able to select the raw file, hit "Upload to Queue" — if all goes well, this should take care of all the below steps.
- I generally choose to NOT split jobs to help prevent other issues down the line. However, if you DO want to split jobs, using this function should create splits for anything over 80 mins
- It will go through a number of protocols such as "convert," "push" and lastly "create record." Once you've seen that the record has been created, the job should appear in CTS. Whether or not it hits the different offices is a different story, but you can at least manipulate the file from CTS now.
- Note that untethered stations have had trouble docking manually uploaded work in the past. This may be resolved by the time this is being read.
If something goes wrong ... First, wait! I've had large files take a LOT of time to go through these steps. For instance, if you've waited a long time but have noted it's gone from Convert to Push, that means it's working, just very slowly.
If need be, the steps can be done manually.
- If file is large, select "Convert All"
- Compare file size and see if the converted file is much smaller
- Close job uploader, reopen, select the file we want to upload (probably the newer, smaller one)
- Select a customer, job type, input any job notice
- Action-> create record (this will create the CTS entry but still not dockable yet but is searchable)
- Until the file is uploaded, no ability to preview or dock
- Action -> push all (sends the file for upload to CTS) (may still take some time) *left off here with issues last time.
